Advances in wireless communications offers the potential for today's portable electronics products to receive and share digital information with unprecedented ease.
In order to serve the needs of consumers and network operators, many wireless standards and formats have emerged and the variety of different connection possibilities has given rise to market opportunities for multi-standard wireless systems.
Elonics are helping enable the untethered revolution by offering software configurable, multi-standard RF tuner devices in cost effective CMOS, addressing the combined spectral needs of a fragmented market.
The Elonics multi-band architecture replaces the need for multiple radio tuners with a single re-configurable RF CMOS IC that supports multiple radio standards. Using the Elonics innovative DigitalTune™ architecture, it enables manufacturers to significantly improve upon today’s solutions offering support for multiple broadcast standards including DVB-T, ISDB-T, T-DMB, DVB-H, ISDB-H, DMB-T, DAB and FM Radio.
Elonics direct conversion zero IF architecture is designed to save power and lower system cost. It eliminates the requirement for expensive and bulky external components such as SAW filters and RF baluns, yet offers extremely high performance.
Elonics is developing a family of tuner ICs following on from the introduction of the world leading E4000 multi-standard RF front end, building upon its leadership in multi-media RF connectivity solutions.
Elonics is at the cutting edge of RF design technology, using 130nm and 90nm CMOS processes from IBM, itself a world leader in RF process technology.

About DigitalTune™
Elonics DigitalTuneTM is a patent pending radio frequency architecture that enables the design of multi-band RF front ends using a single monolithic CMOS IC. The digitally programmable multi-band architecture is used in the E4000 tuner family to cover the complete spectrum from VHF to L Band (64MHz to 1.70GHz) for mobile broadcast applications. DigitalTune™ is a universal architecture, and is capable of supporting other RF applications where re-configuration is highly desirable.
The direct conversion zero IF architecture is designed to save power and lower system cost. It eliminates the requirement for expensive and bulky external components such as SAW filters and RF baluns, yet offers extremely high performance.
Elonics innovative DigitalTune™ architecture enables manufacturers to significantly improve upon today’s solutions offering support for multiple standards with a common re-configurable RF front end.
