David Milne appointed Chairman of Elonics
08 September 2008

Elonics announced today that David Milne has been appointed Chairman of the company. As Chairman of the Board, he will work with the executive team in helping to map out Elonics’ growth strategy. This is the first new board position that David Milne has accepted since stepping down as CEO to a non-executive role within Wolfson Microelectronics
in 2007 (as co-founder, he had previously taken Wolfson Microelectronics from a university spinout to the FTSE 250). Earlier this year David Milne also invested in Elonics as part of the company’s series A funding round.

The appointment of David Milne as Chairman comes just ahead of the launch of Elonics first standard product, the E4000 CMOS radio frequency (RF) tuner, which uses a proprietary innovative technology called DigitalTune™. DigitalTune™ is the foundation for a family of re-configurable CMOS RF front end products from Elonics. The E4000 product has been in development over the past three years. Elonics has worked closely with a number of key high-volume prospects to design high performance multi-band tuners with unrivalled low power consumption and low system cost.

Elonics Chairman, David Milne said, “Elonics has built strong foundations over the past five years developing highly versatile RF and mixed-signal IP which will be at the core of products offering solutions to many of the world’s manufacturers of handheld and portable devices. Elonics DigitalTune™ technology has tremendous potential. The world is going mobile and Elonics is positioned well to take advantage of this trend with its new family of flexible low power CMOS RF tuners. As an advocate of the Scottish semiconductor industry I am also very pleased to support the development of another global business from here in Scotland.”

Elonics CEO, David Srodzinski said, “It is a tremendous asset for Elonics to have David Milne as Chairman. His appointment was unanimously approved by the Board and we were delighted when he accepted. David comes with a wealth of hands-on experience, understanding both the high volume semiconductor business and how to build a company to address it. As well as recognizing the commercial potential for Elonics technology, he understands what is required to help expand Elonics to fully capitalize on its global opportunities.”
