Elonics is a privately held venture capital backed company. £9.1m has been raised since 2008, utilised to design first and second generation RF tuners and a strong roadmap of products targeting the broadcast TV and radio business. This has entailed the development of world-class RF tuner technology for VHF and UHF band radios using a combination of unique patented intellectual property and traditional specialist RF design techniques. Elonics intellectual property comprises advanced RF and mixed-signal circuits with core functions covered by 10 patents.
The Elonics family of RF products is targeted at high performance terrestrial and cable TV broadcast applications such as television, set top box and tuner modules. The DigitalTune™ concept embedded in all the products enables Elonics designers to create solutions without performance compromise yet with the benefits of low power consumption and cost.
Elonics products are characterised by their very low power and high flexibility in order to address multiple broadcast TV and radio standards across a broad range of consumer devices. The underlying technology called “DigitalTune™” consists of high performance RF CMOS building blocks backed up by real time signal processing in order to maximise the performance and flexibility of the tuner whilst minimising the power consumption and cost of the silicon.
The latest products in development are designed to offer state-of-the-artperformance for the new generation of high definition (HD) broadcast standards such as DVB-T, DVB-T2, ISDB-T, DTMB and ATSC, with best in class sensitivity, adjacent channel rejection (ACR) and large signal handling.
