Layout Engineer (Ref: 1001)

As an accomplished layout engineer you will be looking to further develop your knowledge of analogue layout design.  You can already show a clear, methodical approach to your work, leading to the development and documentation of layout flows. You complete layout and physical verification to a high standard, always delivered within the project time frame. With excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic you will work with colleagues to assist the effective layout of circuits, maintaining a log book and reporting status at meetings. 

Reporting to and working in conjunction with the Layout Team Leader you will be expected to plan your work schedule, delivering physical layout of RF, analogue and mixed-signal circuits and verification using various industry standard tools. As part of the technical team you will also contribute to building a strong technical base through your knowledge, intellect and experience, and to assist in the further development of the technical assets of the business.
 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Degree/Diploma or Certificate Qualification in microelectronics or other relevant area
  • A proven record of previous layout experience
  • Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso schematic and layout environments
  • Familiarity with Cadence or Mentor physical verification tools
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate excellent communication skills

Design Engineer (Ref: 1002)

Reporting to Design Group Leader, you will develop your design skills through participation in the design of RF, analogue and mixed-signal circuits contributing to key circuit blocks required by Elonics’ product line. This will include design and simulation using various industry standard tools as well as some IC layout activities and practical lab evaluation of silicon. You will assist with the planning of work, schedule keeping and meeting project deadlines to a highly professional standard. As a strong communicator you will ensure productive development of designs from specification through to completed layout. As part of the technical team you will contribute to building a strong technical base through your knowledge, intellect and experience, and to assist in the further development of the technical assets of the business.


 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in microelectronics or other relevant area
  • Practical experience of analogue design would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with Cadence design and simulation environments would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with laboratory test equipment an advantage
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate excellent communication skills

Applications Engineer - Taiwan (Ref: 1003)

Based in Taiwan, and serving the Greater China Area, you have a proven track record of  providing technical support for customers in the consumer electronics (PC-TV, modules, set top box) markets and are now looking for a new challenge to further your career. In this new role your key responsibility will be to support the design-in of Elonics tuner products in Taiwan and China with potential expansion into rest of Asia. Communicating with the technical support team in the UK to resolve technical issues, you will become an expert in the use, application and function of Elonics silicon tuners to help the local sales team with technical support and problem resolution.

As part of the team driving Elonics business to revenue you will work alongside the applications team in the UK reviewing customer schematics and layouts and providing monthly reports of technical issues from the field. By developing effective engineer-to-engineer relationships with reference design partners and customers you will be competent at explaining the technical features and benefits of Elonics products to end customers, how they are used and how they compare to the competition. You will have proven technical ability to use a suite of electronics lab equipment on the customer site and the ability to coordinate technical resources as needed (reference design partners, software providers, UK applications etc.) to resolve customer issues quickly and effectively. You are able to develop creative solutions to minimise the importance of price and maximize the importance of product performance. By conducting market research reported from on going customer visits you will provide feedback to the Applications and Marketing team for current and future products.

  • Good degree in Engineering or equivalent education
  • A proven track record of semiconductor applications experience preferably RF or analogue mixed-signal
  • Considerable experience of face-to-face customer support activities
  • A proven record of successful design-in closure in the consumer electronics business
  • Be able to cope with managing technical issues, with little direct supervision
  • This role requires extensive world-wide travel, largely to SE Asia on a regular basis.
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A solid level of professionalism, interpersonal skills, and overall communication skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills and ability to be a self-starter

Test and Product Engineer (Ref:1006)

This post is created as Elonics further establishes its operations as a fabless semiconductor supplier and covers all engineering aspects of taking a chip from design into manufacture.Your main responsibility will be the development of production test solutions for Elonics products. You will also be responsible for test issues and taking new products from prototype to volume production. You will work with design teams to ensure testability is designed into Elonics products. The development of innovative test techniques is an important part of this role. It is likely that the successful candidate will be required to travel to SE Asia on a regular basis. 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Good degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent education
  • Considerable experience of semiconductor applications preferably RF
  • Proven track record in a semiconductor company (not necessarily fabless) with broad ranging knowledge across the required activities
  • At least 3 years experience in a test development role
  • A Linear/Analogue background would be desirable, experience on mixed signal/RF high volume products is preferable, and Teradyne Flex knowledge would be particularly relevant
  • No restrictions on travel worldwide, especially China and Far East
